Radio

On Being

On Being (formerly Speaking of Faith) is public radio’s weekly conversation about religion, meaning, ethics and ideas, broadcast on over 200 NPR affiliate stations across the US. During my time there, we won the prestigious Peabody Award and a Webby Award (i.e. we rocked). Here is a small sampling of programs I worked on:

The Ecstatic Faith of Rumi — A Peabody Award-winning profile of the exuberant 13th-Century Muslim mystic who is also the bestselling poet in America today. (53 min)

Film

This was my graduating film project while studying at Concordia University in Montreal, shot on 16mm in 2001.

As the bills pile up, poor farm boy Elijah Goose hopes to help the family by becoming a famous astronaut during the Moon-crazed 1960s. With JFK’s rousing call to action in mind, the boy heads off to NASA accompanied by his loyal companions: Bull the Bull, Swinger the Cat, and Lucky the Dog. The boy learns, though, that the road to the Moon is paved with twists and surprises in this whimsical animated adaptation of a famous nursery rhyme.
